Health insurance
The Australian Government requires international students to
have Overseas Student Health Cover before coming to Australia. You
must maintain your health insurance during your study in
Australia.
The aim of your health insurance is to cover
your costs in case you get sick while in Australia. The cost of
your insurance will depend on the length of your stay – insurance
starts from around A$80 for three months or $348 a year. You may
add extra services on to your health cover.
Only certain companies are allowed to offer
health insurance to international students. Currently they are:
