Support for international students
As an international student, you will be adjusting to a new
education system, a new culture and perhaps a new language. To help
make it easier for you, Australian institutions provide specific
programs.
Depending on your institution, these may include:
- airport pick-up and temporary accommodation
- orientation program
- English language classes
- application and visa assistance
- an international student association
- international student advisers
- accommodation assistance.
You can also access other support programs at your institution
such as health services, employment services, essay-writing
assistance, social and sporting clubs.
Food and restaurants representing many nations are widely
available. You'll also find cultural and community groups
and a range of religious facilities.
Your local IDP counsellor can tell
you more about support for international students in Australia.
