Australian undergraduate degrees are often three year courses,
unlike in the US, where many degrees take four years to complete.
This means students in America must pay an extra year of tuition
fees. Similarly, an Australian PhD degree can be completed in three
years, compared with four years in the US.
Australia has a high standard of living. An average
international student spends $A360 per week on living costs
(accommodation, food, transport etc).
